The Costa Verde & Mar, a tourist region of Santa Catarina, offers countless leisure options, natural beauty, typical cuisine, cultural events and shopping. Balneário Camboriú, located on the northern coast, is a popular destination with beautiful beaches, contemporary buildings, nightlife and the Atlantic Forest. Balneário Piçarras has urban infrastructure, quality healthcare and tranquility, in addition to being well located near leisure and shopping centers. Bombinhas is a naturally stunning peninsula, with several beaches and tourism as its main source of income. Camboriú, located between nearby cities, offers natural beauty, waterfalls, rural inns and trails.
Itajaí, known for its port activities, offers famous beaches, hospitality and a rich culture. Itapema combines coastal landscapes with modern buildings and a lively life all year round. Navegantes has a tradition of fishing and shipbuilding, and is an important center for fish exports. Penha is a city with charming beaches, history, gastronomy and a fishing village atmosphere. Porto Belo, on the northern coast, is known for its beautiful beaches, preserved Atlantic Forest and Azorean cultural heritage.






The Costa Verde & Mar Intermunicipal Tourism Consortium (CITMAR) was formed in March 2005 with the goal of developing regional tourism in an integrated manner. CITMAR emerged from the strategic planning prepared by the Board of Tourism Secretaries of the Association of Municipalities of the Itajaí River Mouth Region (AMFRI). On August 17, 2007, the mayors of the municipalities in the region signed the Protocol of Intentions to form the consortium. CITMAR's main goal is to provide specialized services in planning, development and promotion of tourism, in addition to implementing improvements in the regional tourism infrastructure. It is a legal entity under public law, with no economic purpose, in accordance with the relevant legislation.
